RECORDS

The Records Division maintains all of the records for the police department. This includes criminal cases, juvenile case files as well as all accident reports.

The Records Division also compiles statistics and reports to be distributed to various agencies like the FBI and the State Attorney General's Office. The reports generated include Racial Profiling Data and the Uniform Crime Report.

Accident Reports
All accident reports are completed by the police officer who investigated the accident. Once an accident report has been completed it will be sent to the Texas Department of Public Safety in Austin.

Copies of accident reports can be obtained from the records division 10 working days after the date of the accident. In cases of fatal accidents, the delay may take longer depending on the investigation.

Copies of accident reports can also be obtained online by clicking here: Reports Online

A fee of $6.00 is charged for each copy of an accident report.

Offense Reports
All Offense Reports generated by the Robinson Police Department are maintained in the Records Division in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.

Copies of offense reports can be obtained from the records division once a case has been closed. No offense report that is currently open or contains juvenile information will be released. See Juvenile Cases below for more information.

A processing fee of $ .55 plus a fee of $ .15 per page will be charged for copies of offense reports. For large case files, a deposit totaling half of the total fee may be required before processing can begin.

Juvenile Cases
In accordance with Federal Law, the Robinson Police Department will not release any reports involving juveniles to private individuals. This includes the parents or legal guardians of any juvenile included in the report.

The Robinson Police Department will however release juvenile records to another law enforcement agency, Child Protective Services or the Unites States Military for purposes of determining eligibility for military service.
